So across those decades the survivors and their descendants must battle against the uncertainties and threats of time, not only for their own survival but for that of the race itself. These seven generations of one family each have their own tale to tell, and this is the only surviving account of their history.

This is their testament. One that speaks to the value of their survival and that of humanity itself. It is one that questions the very nature of what that definition means, but unknown to any of them, and throughout all of their struggles, their happiness and their pain, there was only one thing that had always been certain. Chris Connell served in the police service for forty years, ending his career with command responsibilities for the initial management of major crime and other incidents, including the deployment of armed and other specialist units to suspected terrorist events. He has a bachelor's degree, together with three master’s degrees and a Ph.D. in human resource management and training. A married man, he has a passion concerning the climate campaign and the upholding of human rights together with a serious concern about how artificial intelligence could affect the world in years to come.
