Synopsis
Jack Knight, the current holder of the Cosmic Rod, was not the first Starman; there was Jack's brother, David; a castaway from the stars called Mikaal; Gavyn, the prince of a distant galactic empire; and, of course, Jack's father, Ted Knight - the first Starman. 'Times Past' recounts tales of all these heroes: Jack's messy, loving relationship with his father; Ted's vicious, fatal battle with the Ragdoll; Mikaal's strange encounter in a 1970s disco club; Ted's first ever encounter with the Mist, who later caused the death of David Knight; and the tragic story of Gavyn, Starman of another universe. Plus, there's a story - and journal excerpts - about the shadowy gentleman who protected Opal City before the first Starman was even born...the mysterious Shade!
