Charlotte Beech's affair with travelling began as a teenager. After her degrees, she found her niche editing travel guidebooks; but working on other authors' adventures only made her itchy feet worse. So she set off once more on extended trips, and evolved into a roving travel writer. She worked on numerous Lonely Planet guidebooks including Peru. Venezuela, India,Portugal and South Amercia. As Charlotte points out, she wasn't born a fearless traveller- it took years of practice to hone her travelling skills. This book offers an accumulation of Charlotte's own and other travellers' hindsight, wisdom, hints and ploys to arm any adventurer setting off into the wide blue yonder.
