Synopsis

When pathologist Mark Hartmann performs an autopsy on lab assistant Millicent Sweet, he is surprised to find aggressive cancers in someone so young. Before he can discuss his findings, he leaves for a pharmaceutical conference, where he beds one of the sales reps. He realises he's been framed when a video of his adultery is used to try to make him falsify his report. As lawyer Helena Flemming and forensic pathologist John Eisenmenger are drawn in, the shocking truth slowly emerges.

Keith McCarthy is a consultant histopathologist. Trained at St George's Medical School, London, he began practising pathology in 1985. The fifth Eisenmenger and Flemming mystery will be published in 2007. He is currently working on his third novel featuring Eisenmenger and Flemming.
