Claire Arrowsmith was raised in the Highlands of Scotland with a range of domestic, farm and wild animals which fuelled her love of and interest in all animals, particularly cats and dogs. Claire is a full member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors (APBC) and runs her own behavioural consultancy. She holds an Honours degree in Zoology and a Masters degree in Applied Animal Behaviour and Animal Welfare. Claire has worked in animal rescue and with Hearing Dogs for Deaf People. She is also the specialist behaviourist for Houndstar Films DVDs who produce cat, dog and small animal advisory DVDs. Claire features on the expert panel of Your Dog magazine providing answers to reader's questions and presents regular advisory talks and workshops about problem pets. She currently lives with her husband and Rhodesian Ridgeback mix dog, Sarnie.
Francesca Riccomini graduated from the Royal Veterinary College, University of London, and spent many years as a small animal veterinarian before gaining a Post-Graduate Diploma in Companion Animal Behaviour Counselling from Southampton Unversity and specialising in behavioural medicine. She is a Certified Clinical Animal Behaviourist, a member of the Feline Advisory Bureau's (FAB) Expert Behaviour Panel and a full member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors (APBC) for which she formerly served as Veterinary Representative. Francesca is a co-author of the FAB's first book dedicated to the Cat Friendly Practice, and the recently published Essential Cattitude, an insight into the feline world. In addition, she writes companion animal behaviour-related articles for a number of publications, including several veterinary titles and magazines aimed at pet owners. She also addresses readers' behavioural queries for Your Cat magazine. A regular speaker at seminars and conferences, an aspect of her behavioural practice that Francesca finds particularly rewarding, she firmly believes that companion animal behaviour, and problems relating to it, is of paramount importance in both the veterinary and pet-owning worlds. Over the years numerous 'rescued' cats and dogs have enriched Francesca's life, although she is currently between pets, and while enjoying the freedom that accompanies a pet-free status, she is greatly looking forward to the next animal companion that comes along.
Most of us conjure up a warm mental image when we pause to imagine life with a cat. It is satisfying to think of the feline friend curled up asleep on your lap, or purring happily and twining round your legs as you prepare his morning meal. But what if...you reach down to stroke kitty and he bites your finger, or that lovingly prepared meal is sicked up over the living room carpet ten minutes later? That's when the real world strikes back. That's when you reach for What If My Cat..? Here is a book that tells you the things that so many other cat books leave out. It concentrates on the possible pitfalls and problems that an owner may have to confront in the course of day-to-day life with a cat, and offers sound practical advice on how best to deal with the situation, both in terms of immediate action and possibly over the longer term. The topics covered in the various sections include behavioural problems, socialisation and relationship issues, mishaps and accidents around the home and garden, how to assess and react to the signs and symptoms of illnesses. Superbly illustrated in colour throughout, here is a book that can point the way to happy, stress-free days for all cat owners.

paperback. Etat : Very Good. Most of our very good books have only minor imperfections such as shelf wear consistent with a new book that's sat on a bookshop shelf for a year or two. Occasionally we may miss other minor imperfections as we have to grade books at speed. Our books are dispatched from a Yorkshire former cotton mill. We list via barcode/ISBN so please note that the images are stock images and may not be the exact copy you receive, furthermore the details about edition and year might not be accurate as many publishers reuse the same ISBN for multiple editions and as we simply scan a barcode or enter an ISBN we do not check the validity of the edition data when listing. If you're looking for an exact edition please don't order (at least not without checking with us first, although we don't always have time to check). We aim to dispatch prompty, the service used will depend on order value and book size. We can ship to most countries, see our shipping policies. Payment is via Abe only.
