JOHN TOWNSEND is a British author of children's books (fiction, non-fiction and plays). He was a secondary school teacher, playwright and story-teller in primary schools before concentrating on writing full-time. He is a Reading Champion for the UK's National Literacy Trust, a Reading Patron and a frequent visitor to schools, literacy projects and anywhere celebrating books.
