She has written numerous books, including The Little Japanese Cookbook, Street Cafe Japan, and Easy Sushi. Yasuko Fukuoka was born in Tokyo and established herself there as a musician and composer. Nationwide concert tours in Japan provided her with the opportunity to gain an extensive knowledge of regional Japanese food.
