Synopsis

"The Beheading" is the title piece of this collection of true stories - some grim, some witty - based on the author's own experiences as the Saudi Arabia correspondent for "The Times". Included in this collection is the author's account of an adulterous woman stoned to death - "Women Are Always to Blame". Bob Crew is one of the few Westerners ever to have witnessed it at first hand. And, in "An Extract From My Diary", he explains how his predictions regarding what has not changed in Saudi Arabia in the new Millennium have been remarkably prescient.
