Synopsis

We all love to dress up for special occasions so why shouldn't our pets join in the fun? At last you can stitch for your bitch, purl for your Persian, lavish your affection and skill on the pet that you love. Pet Heaven is the solution to all your pet accessory needs.
Sally Muir and Joanna Osborne grew up surrounded by a multitude of animals, from Afthan hounds to mynah birds, through cats, donkeys, hens and hamsters. They were both encouraged to knit from an early age and in Pet Heaven have combined these two popular passions with their witty approach and unique designs. The patterns range from the simple, which can be knitted by the ten-year-old beginner for their new hamster, up to the more challenging, like the wire bird feeder, for the more experienced. After all, what cat wouldn't yearn for a mouse mat to lounge on? What sensible rabbit would refuse carrot curtains as part of their interior decoration?
From the Puppy Papoose to the Anti-fly Horse Hat, the projects are as practical as they are quirky. Using wool and cotton as well as recycled materials, such as plastic bags and old knitwear, they are both inventive and resourceful. There is no better way to show your devotion to the furry friend in your life, and if you don't happen to own a pet, why not knit yourself one?
