As modern healthcare evolves, it is essential for nurses to understand and work with a diverse range of people to provide quality care. But it is often difficult to grasp the many roles of those in healthcare services. This book provides a clear, practical and up-to-date guide to the various people that nurses work with, including the essential role of service users themselves, and how to work with them to improve care. This new edition includes increased coverage of teamwork and improving mental health. It is updated throughout including discussion of LiNKS, the Care Quality Commission and Every Child Matters.

Very relevant to current thinking, where healthcare professionals need to work efficiently with other professionals and voluntary groups to benefit patients. --Lecturer, Kingston University
Once again, this text has hit the target directly when looking at nursing and collaborative practice. The historical aspect is enlightening and it sets the scene quite nicely in leading the reader into the other specific topics covered... I am also happy that this is aligned with current NMC Standards and Essential Skills Clusters. Once again, this text is a must for all healthcare students, regardless of their chosen profession. With such an emphasis being placed on change within the NHS, it is important that all employees within healthcare are aware of the impact their input has when considering the protection of the public through professional standards. --Lecturer, University of Hertfordshire
This book is an excellent addition to the series. I like how the book ties in to the NMC draft domains and essential skills clusters. The activities and case studies are relevant and thought-provoking, and the outline answers will be useful for students. Your further reading lists are very useful too. --Lecturer, Leeds Metropolitan University
