This accessible book guides the reader through the theories and principles that underpin effective communication and helps them understand how to apply this learning to practice. The book focuses on communication with learners, but also considers how to communicate effectively with colleagues and others in the Sector to improve learning and professional skills. The book encourages the use of communication to manage challenging behaviour, promote an effective learning environment and enhance learning. It examines the range of learning environments within which communication takes place and offers practical advice on the use of learning resources.
