There are several thousand knots in existence and an almost infinite number of variations of these. This reference manual and practical handbook presents over 200 knots, illustrating how to tie them in step-by-step photographs and clear, detailed text. These include familiar knots, such as the simple overhand or thumb knot, but there are also more challenging knots. Each set of instructions is clearly written and accompanied by precise photographs that take you through every step of tying the knot. Whether you are an eager beginner or a lifelong devotee of the satisfying art of knot-tying, this handbook will prove an absorbing and indispensable guide.

Geoffrey Budworth is a prolific writer and an influential name on the knotting scene. Twenty-five years ago he promoted the systematic evaluation of knotted clues preserved at scenes of crime, and the subsequent presenation of such evidence in the courts, which has resulted in him being called 'the Father of Forensic knotting'. In 1982 he co-founded the International Guild of Knot Tyers and is a past President of the Guild as well as a frequent contributor to its quarterly magazine Knotting Matters.
