George Galloway won the Bethnal Green parliamentry seat in May 2005 for the respect Party, the party he founded after being expelled from the Labour Party for his vocal opposition to the invasion of Iraq. He previously served as Senior Vice Chairman of the Labour party's Foreign Affairs Committee for fourteen of the fifteen years he sat as a Labour member of parliament. He is Vice-President of the Stop the War Coalition UK. He is the author of I am Not the Only One, and Mr Galloway Goes to Washington.
