Mary Millard is retired and living in Weymouth with her second husband, the Rev. Malcolm Millard. Converted at the age of 17 after a somewhat disturbed and troubled childhood, she trained as a nurse and midwife. After qualifying she went to Uganda to work in medical research. It was there she met her first husband, Philip Weeks, a missionary with the Africa Inland Mission. They served in the Congo before returning to England to work with Scripture Union. They had four children, (three surviving) and now have five grandchildren. Philip was ill for many years, and died in 2000. In 2001 Mary began to engage in short-term missionary work in the Great Lakes area of Africa, and also to write books. She has a passion to share Jesus with children through the medium of literature.
