Having been a secondary school teacher for many years, John became a full-time writer of children's books: from picture books, plays and poetry to reading schemes (award-winning 'Dockside' for Rising Stars), novels and information books. He has now published almost 300 titles. Visiting schools and libraries around the UK to promote reading, John had been involved with many literacy projects, specialising in engaging all abilities with text. Specialist non-fiction subjects include science, history, geography and amazing animals.
