'The Faery's Gift, by Tanya Robyn Batt is a wonderful story, gorgeously illustrated in glowing pastels by Nicoletta Ceccoli. Based on an Irish folk tale, it's about a poor woodcutter who rescues a faery and is granted a single wish - buy should he use it to grant his wife the baby she longs for, his old mother the sight she has lost or his father the gold that will enable them to live a more comfortable life? It's a thought provoking and intriguing conundrum with a satisfying conclusion that children aged four to seven will thoroughly enjoy' - Sainsbury's Magazine --Sainsbury's Magazine. 'A wish! The woodcutter's heart gave a leap. He could wish for anything that he wanted.' But listening to his family's needs the gift soon becomes a burden. An enchanting and magical tale that contains beautiful and inspiring illustrations' - Family Interest Magazine --Family Interest Magazine. 'The clean, unflowery language supports the swift yet unhurried pace of the tale, making it an easy choice for reading or telling aloud. Ceccoli's airy acrylic and oil pastel illustrations suit the out-of-time setting of the tale. The cool greens of the forest and blues of the night sky are warmed by a sunset glow that suffuses most of the pages' - Bulletin for the Center of Children's Books --Bulletin for the Center of Children's Books
