Synopsis

Father Onwukeme has written a very useful short introduction to exegesis – the art of the exegete … In this book you will learn more about the various ways in which so many exegetes have explored the books of sacred scripture but, above all, you will discover, as Fr Victor says, what these texts have meant ‘to the community of believers of all times’. Canon Timothy Swinglehurst, Episcopal Vicar for Education, Diocese of Leeds The Word of God enables us to understand the challenges of life and make meaning out of them, especially in times of crisis such as the Covid-19 pandemic. In order to understand the Word of God as contained in sacred scripture, there is need for proper interpretation. In this book, Introducing Exegesis, Fr Victor has brilliantly put together the keys to proper interpretation of the Bible. According to him, proper exegesis can only be done through the tools of exegesis recommended by the Church. We need to know what these tools are and how to use them so that we can understand the Bible better.   is book is, therefore, most timely, very edifying and worth the read, and so I recommend it to all! Fr Emmanuel Adindu, MSP, Parish Priest, Our Lady of Kirkstall, Leeds
