Synopsis

Victoria Beckham is one of the most famous women in the world and an iconic figure for modern women in Britain. She has been a constant source of fascination for the celebrity hungry public since she first claimed our attention as Posh Spice in the mid nineties. Since then love and marriage to arguably the most famous man in the country, footballer David Beckham, has increased her wealth and popularity until she now eclipses the other Spice Girls who shared that initial success. But despite her star status, critics continue to undermine her, holding open season on her apparent lack of musical talent, constantly scrutinising her body shape, her looks and her hair as well as speculating wildly on the state of her marriage. Now, the UK's leading celebrity biographer, Sean Smith, believes it is time to reassess this remarkable woman. New research into her background, her early life and ambitions reveal a fascinating portrait of the girl who transformed herself from an overweight, spotty and bullied teenager into the aspirational figure she is today. Victoria is a rare combination of wife, mother, fashion leader and business woman.Smith assesses how she has conquered the low spots of fame including the jealousy, the security threats to her family and her husband's alleged infidelity. Fully illustrated it will include accounts of the headline-grabbing Spice Girls Reunion tour.
