Présentation de l'éditeur

In this fascinating book, Dr Dewi Rees describes his life as a general practitioner and hospice doctor. After completing his hospital internships, he became a GP in post-war London then, with his family, moved to Labrador in Canada to care for the Inuit and Innu peoples before returning to Cardiff to work in a psychiatric hospital. Later he joined a practice in Llanidloes, mid Wales, where he was the first british doctor to describe the high mortality caused by agricultural tractors, and the first GP to write specifically about bereavement. His 1971 paper on "The Hallucinations of Widowhood" has attracted the attention of sociologists, theologians and psychiatrists, whilst traditional Welsh healers and alternative medicine are also part of Dewi's remarkable story.
