Biographie de l'auteur

David Potter was born in Forfar in 1948 and grew up with a passion for football, a game in which he has done everything other than play! He has refereed, coached, commentated on, written about and watched avidly both on TV and in the flesh, having seen his first game in 1954. He graduated from St Andrews University in 1970 and taught Classics and Spanish at Glenrothes High School from 1971 until 2003. He now teaches part-time at Osborne House School in Dysart. He lives in Kirkcaldy and is married with three children, three grandchildren and a dog. Other than football, his passions are cricket and drama. He has written several books on Scottish football. Phil Jones is a retired local government manager who has lived in north-east Fife since 1974. Originally from Bradford in Yorkshire, he too is a graduate of St Andrews University and saw his first Scottish football match in 1966 when he was a student. He went on to visit all the Scottish League grounds, usually accompanied by David Potter, and since retiring from Fife Council in 2003 has extended his football travels to non-league grounds throughout Scotland. In the course of carrying out research for this book he has visited places as far apart as Wick and Wigtown. He is married with three adult children, and his other interests include researching family history and taking his dog for long walks.
