Synopsis

With cartoons galore, this fact-packed book about the First and Second World Wars throws a unique light on the experience of Welsh people and those who were sent to Wales as evacuees. Graham Howells's illustrations add to the humour of Catrin Stevens's original text, even though, as is customary in the Wicked Wales series, the humour is often of the grim variety. There's something for everybody in Woeful Wales at War, from the grandparents and great-grandparents who experienced the horrors of war first-hand, to the thousands of schoolchildren who enjoy finding out about this very important (and world-changing) part of our history.
