As the author of six textbooks and numerous articles and monographs on language and learning, she has established a reputation as an expert in how language is used for learning and how language and cognition interact. As a practitioner in education, Dr. Arwood is often referred to as a "lady before her time". Her development of assessment methods and instructional strategies for children and adults has positively influenced the lives of thousands of individuals, both nationally and internationally.
