Most of the 89 poems in this wonderful selection are presented to the reader after a related piece of prose setting them in a social, often biographical, context. It is laced with humour. In her Introduction his daughter, Lindy Andren, describes the whole as being `about relationships: those between poetry and prose, and those between us and others, between us and God, and between us and the wonder of the world around us and the worlds within.' She has also written a short biography of her father, part of which forms the back cover of the book. An appreciation of Erik Andren from the journalist and author Michael Smith, first published online by Initiatives for Change UK, is reproduced as an epilogue.
