Synopsis

MORTAL LOVE traces the story of five central figures, the devastating impact of love on them and the ways in which their lives are intertwined. The plot set in Jerusalem, Hungary and Greece, leaping back and forth in space and time. The main characters are Beno Gottzeit, a Holocaust survivor,his daughter Edna, son-in-law Zohar, painter-lover Margit and Ilias, a Greek-Orthodox monk. This is a story about love, evil, memory, identity and above all, destiny.

À propos de l'auteur

Rivka Keren was born in July 24,1946 as Katalin Friedlander in Debrecen, Hungary. She immigrated with her family to Israel in 1957. She has been writing since childhood, first in Hungarian, later in Hebrew. Studied painting in Jerusalem and New York, philosophy, literature and psychology in Bar Ilan University, graduated in Tel Aviv university (MA, clinical psychology). Keren has worked as a librarian, art therapist and clinical psychologist. Exhibited her paintings in various countries. During all these years, she published novels, books for children and adolescents, short stories, translations, she was included in anthologies and won literary awards. Rivka Keren is married to Shmuel (Sam), and has two grown-up children, Noam and Maayan. She has also two lovely adopted dogs, Cinnamon and Mc Toffee.
