Bob is intrigued by what might be on the other side of the tree. Only once has he been by the tree to have a look, but he didn’t dare go further. Bob’s friend Hilbert claims that he’s been on the other side of the tree several times. He even says that he’s flown around the world using his own wings, despite him being a dog. Bob isn’t quite sure what to believe… Bárður Oskarsson’s latest fable teaches yet another invaluable lesson on life’s misgivings.

Bárður Oskarsson (born 18 July 1972 in Torshavn) is an award-winning Faroese artist, author and illustrator. Early in his career, Oskarsson was an illustrator for the Faroese children’s magazine, Barnablaðið (now known as Strok). In 2004, he wrote and illustrated his first book - Ein hundur, ein ketta og ein mús / Dog, Cat and Mouse, which was later published in French (2006), Icelandic (2007), Danish (2008), Norwegian (2013), and is set for its English release in 2018 by Darf Children's Books. Oskarsson has since published six other children’s titles in Faroese, including The Flat Rabbit, which has now been translated into ten languages.
