Synopsis
Designing for performance is a live, collaborative and energetic process that is dependent on constant reinvention and reimagining. Artists, designers and directors constantly test and try out new techniques and technologies as they look for new ways to create space and tell stories.
This booklet, accompanying the V&A exhibition, provides a snapshot of the work of some of the key practitioners in the field. Kate Bailey and Greer Crawley introduce interviews from designers including Es Devlin, Anthony Gormley and Rae Smith – bringing together British designs submitted for the Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space, the world's largest exhibition of scenography.
