Synopsis
This book is taken from a series which provides an introduction to infant maths topics. The concepts dealt with follow the guidelines of the British National Curriculum. It introduces children to the idea that shapes are found all around us in our everyday lives. From a basic square, rectangle, circle and triangle, this book goes on to look at solid shapes, irregular shapes and what happens when shapes are fitted together. Activities such as making a collection on different shaped objects, potato printing shapes, modelling shapes, and making a monster robot out of different shaped boxes, are included to give children a greater understanding of the topic.
