Therefore the reader will have sufficient information to both understand the workings of FSA control and to apply it in practical situations. The book covers a wide range of topics relating to finite spectrum assignment. The general development of algorithms and the analysis of control properties are discussed in the earlier chapters. Subsequently, a class system identification method using relay as a means of system excitation is introduced; this is extended to cover automatic tuning and self-tuning of model-based control systems. The concluding chapter addresses the stability of finite spectrum assigned control systems under practical operation conditions. Simulations and real-time experimentation results are provided throughout for a clearer illustration of finite spectrum assignment control and its principles. In particular, state-of-the-art automatic tuning and self-tuning are applied to the FSA control, which is very useful for plant automation.
