One hundred and twenty Christians gathered in Jerusalem during the first Gulf War to pray for the prophesied second exodus of the Jewish people and were swept up in an adventure they scarcely imagined as part of the preparation for the return of the Lord. Since 1991 Operation Exodus has helped well over 100,000 Jewish people to reach the Promised Land from the former Soviet Union. This book, in its 3rd edition, is the riveting story of how Operation Exodus began and what led Gustav and his wife Elsa to travel throughout the former Soviet Union to tell Jewish people that it is their time to return to Israel. Full of anicdotes, humor and extraordinary demonstrations of faith, this book puts into focus the significance this modern day exodus has for the Church and Israel. The story of this exodus, still remarkably unknown by most in the Christian world, is a fast paced, miracle filled page turner! It is one of those outstanding Christian stories that will for ever stand the test of time.
Gustav Scheller was born in Switzerland in 1929. He, with his wife Elsa, came to the UK in 1956 to build up a travel and tour operating company. Gustav also established foreign language schools and at the peak of the company s business had offices in London, Edinburgh, Switzerland and Tokyo. The company received the Queen's Award to Industry for travel and tourism in 1974. Gustav died on 18th February 2000.
