Illustrated libretto to the opera Pass the Spoon written and with forewords by British artist David Shrigley, composer David Fennessy and director Nicholas Bone. Best-known for his wry and witty drawings, David Shrigley's artistic practice extends well beyond drawing to include photography, sculpture, neon signs, animation, painting, printmaking, publishing and music. Hayward Publishing is pleased to announce the publication of the libretto for Pass the Spoon, a sort-of-opera written by Shrigley featuring TV chefs June Spoon and Philip Fork, a manic-depressive egg and a host of other surreal characters. The libretto is published on the occasion of performances taking place at Edinburgh's Traverse Theatre (26 to 28 April 2012), and the Southbank Centre, London (5 and 6 May 2012). Featuring 20 brand new illustrations and original text, this is the first-ever libretto written by David Shrigley and a truly unique addition to the popular titles already available on this acclaimed artist.
