David Winter s career has included teaching, journalism, twenty years as a BBC producer (ending up as Head of Religious Broadcasting) and then twenty years as a Church of England minister. He's written forty books (this is his forty-first!) - mostly trying to unpack the Bible and applying its message to modern life. But he's also written one novel, an autobiography and an anthology of poems from the last millennium about Jesus Christ. He's been a regular contributor to 'Thought for the Day' on Radio 4 for the last twenty-two years. As a matter of record, he's 'retired' three times!
