Dr John Pimlott was head of the Department of War Studies at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst. He was a foremost expert on 20th-century warfare, particularly World War II. His works include studies of weapons (such as the B-52), battles and campaigns (Remagen Bridge and a general history of the Vietnam War), and he has edited numerous large-scale military histories.
