Synopsis
Using ten years of research, the author discloses how new findings shed new light on the Battle of Waterloo. Uncovered are huge cover-ups by British politicians, military commanders and regimental authorities, misleading publications which have led to gross errors being repeated over generations, international conspiracies and betrayals, battlefield moves which have never been known about before, and the consequent inaccuracy of Napoleonic atlases and assessments. The work is not solely revisionist, it is a reassessment of the battle using information obtained from the author's own research. It was winner of the 1993 Souvenir Napoleonien Grand Prix Award, and shortlisted for the 1994 Longman/"History Today" Book of the Year.
