Dante Gabriel Rossetti's house in Chelsea was a bohemian enclave in Victorian London, the social centre for such rebels as the visionary painter Edward Burne-Jones, the socialist William Morris, the aesthete James McNeil Whistler and the poet Charles Swinburne.
