Derek Blyth moved to Brussels from Amsterdam in 1990 and has experienced virtually every type of practical problem, including finding a cheap apartment to filling in a tax form and enrolling children in a Belgian school. He worked as a journalist for 12 years and is now a freelance writer, translator and guide. He remains convinced that Brussels is one of the most stimulating cities in Europe.
