Synopsis
This work takes the principles of how to enhance learning one step further. It applies these principles to staff, to staff development, and finally to management and leadership. It seeks out and applies a coherence of approach to the whole learning community. Furthermore, it explains how the American Critical Skills Programme incorporates all the key principles of learning in a comprehensive, practical and outstandingly effective teaching programme, which can also be used to promote staff and organizational development.

Colin Weatherley is a former secondary headteacher in West Lothian and Edinburgh. In 1998 he discovered CSP in an American INSET video series. Network Educational Press were so impressed with the videos and other CSP materials that they negotiated the exclusive rights to promote CSP in the UK and asked Colin to take on the role of UK Critical Skills Manager. Tim Brighouse is Commissioner for London Schools and visiting professor at the Institute of Education at London University. He is a sought after speaker, author and has broadcast on UK radio and television.
