Synopsis

This book is intended for student nurses of all branches and junior staff nurses, particularly those beginning to work in the community for the first time. The book consists of a collection of contributions from a large variety of staff working in community settings and focuses primarily on the roles that nurses undertake but also includes the key allied health and medical and teaching and management perspectives. In discussing each job role, the contributors focus on the following elements: the role; pleasures, challenges and future directions; patient care; and student nurses on placement. Contributions are grouped under the following headings: traditional nursing roles; specialist nursing roles; medical and allied health; and teaching and management.
