Synopsis
Sassinak was 12 when the raiders came. Old enough to be used, young enough to be broken - or so they thought. But they reckoned without the girl's will forged into a steely resolve to revenge herself on the pirates who had killed her parents and friends.
When the chance comes to escape, Sassinak grabs it, thanks to the help of a captured Fleet crewman. Returned to the Federation of Sentient Planets, she initiates her revenge by joining Fleet as a raw recruit, surprising everyone with her rapid rise to senior rank. And then her vengeance begins in earnest.

À propos des auteurs
Anne McCaffrey was one of the world's leading science fiction writers, and won both the Hugo and Nebula awards. She was brought up in the US and lived in Ireland for many years. She co-authored books with Elizabeth Moon, Jody Lynn Nye, Margaret Ball, Mercedes Lackey and S.M. Stirling. She died in November 2011 at the age of 85.
Elizabeth Moon served in the US Marine Corps, reaching the rank of 1st Lieutenant during active duty. She has also earned degrees in history and biology, run for public office and been a columnist on her local newspaper. She lives near Austin, Texas, with her husband and their son. Twenty-six of her books are in print, and she won the Nebula Award with her science fiction novel Speed of Dark (also shortlisted for the Clarke Award), and was a finalist for the Hugo in 1997.
