David Feintuch worked as an antiques dealer, photographer, real-estate investor and attorney before becoming a full-time writer. His lifelong interest in the British Navy and the Napoleonic era provided background material for the Seafort Saga, for which he won the John W. Campbell Award as best new writer for 1996. David Feintuch died in 2006.
