The daughter of an RAF officer, Shellie was born in Egypt. Eventually settling in Oxford as a student, she met her future husband. After graduating she trained as a special needs teacher, later working in specialist education and social services. Now widowed, and retired, Shellie is involved in local community projects, including helping immigrants to learn English. She often returns to Egypt to visit friends and take part in excavations. Shellie enjoys spending time with her two sons and her close friends, and going to the village pub and on long walks. After a career that included the writing of numerous factual reports, she now enjoys writing for pleasure. Runaway is her first novel.
