A split in the binding at pp 174-75, but otherwise a good clean copy in unclipped dustwrapper of this hard-cover book dealing with the author's childhood and early youth in Glasgow in the 1940s. Evacuated to Larkhall in Lanarkshire as a twelve year old, he then moved to Prestwick with the rest of his family , returning to Glasgow in 1944.
