Synopsis

Many dangers surround the young lovers Rebecca and Lorenzo not least their cultural differences and their families' disapproval. Rebecca is the clever vivacious daughter of a rabbi and Lorenzo is the young catholic captain of his family's flotilla of trading ships. As the French join forces with the Spanish in their bid to capture the Rock, Rebecca and Lorenzo continually face starvation or enemy attack. Taking Rebecca onboard Lorenzo bravely tries to run the blockage and risks his life to bring back food to the starving people of the Rock. Entwined with the tragic story of the young lovers are other tales of the Rock's heroic residents, the actions of one in particular are to have far reaching consequences.

À propos de l'auteur

Born in Mississippi, USA and educated at George Washington University. He has worked for naval intelligence in Washington DC and designed the electronic circuitry for the California space programmes, restored period houses in the UK and been imprisoned in Mozambique after being thought to be an MI6 agent. The co-author of Scorpion Heart he has also written in Mozambique for The Sunday Telegraph. He is now retired and lives in Andalusia.
