Synopsis
A critical biography of the acclaimed WWI writer Donald Hankey. Handkey's essays originally appeared in The Spectator under the pseudonym A Student in Arms and offered a first-hand study of the citizen army that had been recruited and sent to fight against the Germans. Hankey was killed in action on the Somme in 1916.
