This is the history of the Harborne Birmingham branch line, known as the "Harborne Express", from its opening in 1866 to its closure, under the Beeching Axe, on 2nd November 1963. The book covers the social history of the area it served and the railway history of the line. It features many photographs of people, locomotives, rolling stock, buildings and trackside details, and includes maps and trackplans which should be of interest to railway historians and railway modellers.
