Synopsis

  • 'A fascinating book - a must for all golf enthusiasts' Allsport
  • 'The most eccentric golf book ever' Sport and Leisure
  • From bestselling author Andrew Ward.

Golf's Strangest Rounds presents a fascinating collection of the game's most memorable moments together with bizarre tales from the lengthy annals of the sport's history. There are tales of tragedy, eccentricity, tactical slip-ups and others that seemingly defy categorisation altogether - like 'Mysterious Montague', one of the world's best golfers, but who refused to compete in a single tournament. Numerous legends of the game have also experienced strange rounds in their respective careers, and these include Gene Sarazen, Al Geiberger, Chip Beck, Greg Norman, Robert de Vicenzo and Nick Faldo - all of whom appear in the book for their parts in irrational finishes, record rounds and famous freak shots.

Other titles in the series: Football's Strangest Matches (9781907554087), Rugby's Strangest Matches (9781907554063) and Cricket's Strangest Matches (9781907554094).
