Author John Jarrett has been a student of boxing since 1946, and has been writing about the sport since 1951 when his first article appeared in Boxing News. He still writes for the 'trade paper' today. His work has appeared in Boxing World, Boxing Weekly, International Boxing and since 1988 in the British Boxing Board of Control Yearbook. In 1978 he was appointed Northern Area Secretary for the British Boxing Board of Control, a position he still holds today.
