Katie Wood has written some 36 guidebooks on topics ranging from family holidays to the environmental and social impacts of tourism. Her books have been universally praised for their practical, down-to-earth approach and the quality of her research. A fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, Katie continues to write freelance on travel for numerous newspapers and magazines. She lives in Scotland with her husband and two sons.
