Synopsis

In the mid-1900s, an unknown writer called Ian Fleming sat down to write "Casino Royale", giving birth to one of the most famous fictional characters ever created. James Bond became a worldwide icon, defeating enemies and seducing women - and audiences - with his combination of style, wry wit and understated cool. Bond soon eclipsed his creator, progressing from page to screen ten years later, immortalised through Sean Connery's performances, then Roger Moore's and most recently Pierce Brosnan's. "Martinis, Girls and Guns" is a guide to the "world of Bond", featuring extraordinary individuals - including Connery, Moore, Brosnan, Cubby Broccoli and Fleming. It also contains films and stills from the early years, presenting an entertaining history of a unique literary and cinematic icon.
