John Farndon has written and acted as a consultant on many children's books particularly related to science. John Farndon has written many reference titles for children and has twice been shortlisted for the COPUS science book prize. He graduated from Cambridge University with a Masters degree in Earth Science. Brian Ward the author of the medical sections writes for both children and adults on a range of healthcare and general biological topics. His work includes writing books specifically for school use and also educational materials for patients in hospital. Philip Brooks has had more than 20 books published and specialises in History and Architecture. Simon Adams is a writer and editor of non-fiction books, and has written extensively about history for children. Will Fowler the author of the sections on weapons and warfare is a consultant and writer specializing in defence, current affairs and military history. He has written books on popular history for many publishers and broadcasts regularly on radio and TV.
