Carl Hier’s lifelong passion for angling has given him a fascination for the natural world, particularly in and around water. Out of his experiences has come this collection of poetry, originally written as a diversion during Coronavirus lockdown. They express his feelings about the world of water and fish, along with the many other creatures which make their homes in and around lakes, ponds and rivers. The poems are accompanied by photographs taken over Carl’s many decades at the waterside.
At times when we cannot be outdoors enjoying our surroundings, poems like these are the next best thing.
